Denis Edward Beck, 77, of Springville, formerly of Central City, passed away Dec. 31, 2017, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Jan. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Denis was born March 11, 1940, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of J. Martin and Anna Marie (Johnson) Beck. He graduated from Wyoming High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Donna Delarm. He worked at Goss as a machinist for almost 30 years. Denis also worked with his son, Don, at Don's Grave Digging. He enjoyed farming, fishing, playing cards and, especially, spending time with his grandson, Levi, and his cat, Elmo.
He is survived by his children, Dawn (Bill) Perez of Cedar Rapids and their children, Gregg and Kurtis, Don Beck of Springville and his children, Kayla and Levi, and Diane (Troy) McShane of Central City and their children, Ryan and Amanda; children of his late daughter, Deborah, Tina and Sarah; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and sister, Betty Borders.
Denis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah; and two sisters, Elsie Drake and Janet Eldeen.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Denis' memory.
