The company’s baby formula is produced and packaged at plants in Iowa and Oregon.

ByHeart produces formula powder at a plant in Allerton, Iowa, and then ships it to a site in Portland, Oregon, for canning and distribution.

At least 15 babies in 12 states have been sickened in the outbreak tied to ByHeart formula, state and federal health officials said. That's an increase from 13 cases in 10 states reported Saturday.

The mix, formerly sold as Aunt Jemima pancake mix, was sent to stores in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah and Wisconsin.

The recall covers certain Santa Fe and Elantra vehicles from the 2021 and 2022 model years.

The recalls cover more than 145,000 Hyundai and Genesis vehicles.

General Motors is recalling nearly 462,000 pickup trucks and big SUVs.

The products were sold at stores including Albertson's, Aldi, Dollar General, Kroger, Publix, Target, Walmart and others.

The safety recall order from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, potentially causing “excessive internal friction” that could make the vehicle difficult to steer and increase the likelihood of a crash.

The agency said that without the warning light, a vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.
