Joseph Arnold Ellis of Higbee, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 14 at Boone Hospital due to complications of a surgery.
Joe was born in New Bern, North Carolina on August 24, 1948, the son of Charles Ellis and Katie Larrimore. He married his first wife Linda K. Kaufman. Later he married Margie Mackey, April 19, 1980.
Joe was the perfect handyman; he also loved and enjoyed all things outdoors, he was an avid fisherman, and taught his grandchildren about gun safety and often took them hunting.
Joe was most passionate about his Cat Buddy, whom he adored.
Survivors include wife Margie Marie Ellis, sister Pam Ellis of Woodburn, Oregon, Son Kelly Ellis of Marion, Iowa, daughter Shelly Antons of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 3 stepchildren, Della, Stella (Jim) and Ralph, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Joe is preceded in death by parents Charles A Ellis and Katie L Larrimore, and beloved stepmother Anna M Ellis. son Jeffrey A Ellis, sister Rene Rathje.
Joesph’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. His celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and donations, please reach out to Nikki Ellerbach.
