CEDAR RAPIDS — A new indoor adventure park — the largest in Iowa — is coming to Cedar Rapids, offering a zip line, climbing walls, duck pin bowling and bumper boats, among other attractions.
Cedar Rapids-based Edwards Entertainment Co., which owns Fun Station locations in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Eldridge, announced Wednesday it plans to open a second Cedar Rapids location next year.
The new facility, at 8920 Brighton Way SW, will be more than 70,000 square feet. The site is north of Wright Brothers Boulevard and west of Kirkwood Boulevard SW.
“This expansion represents a significant milestone in our growth, making it the largest indoor adventure park in the state of Iowa and the entire region, featuring over 22 amazing attractions,” a news release stated.
Attractions that will be included in the facility, according to the news release, include “slick slides” that are “like riding a waterslide without the water”; the longest indoor zip line in the Midwest; an arcade featuring more than 40 games; nine climbing walls; a ropes course extending 55 feet in the air; bumper cars; duck pin bowling; glow mini golf; a play maze; a seasonal bumper boats course; 10,000 square feet of trampolines; a two-level laser tag area; two dining options; a bar; and an outdoor patio overlooking a pond.
Ahmann Companies will be the developer.
The other Cedar Rapids Fun Station, at 200 Collins Rd. NE, opened in 1993.
