Jim Vlaanderen, 73, died peacefully in his home in Iowa City, Iowa on Friday, September 13, 2024 of pancreatic cancer.
Jim is survived by his children, April (Jacob Henry) Vlaanderen and Derek Guthals, four grandchildren and a great-grandson. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Marlyn) Renken, special cousin Vicki Bouchard, and many other beloved family members and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Richard and Neola (Leet) Vlaanderen, Janet (Knowles) Gilbert, and his wife Mindy.
Jim donated his body to the University of Iowa. At Jim’s request, there will be no funeral services.
