Bring discipline back to school system

It is beyond all comprehension how the people in this city can continue to voluntarily give more money to a school system that has a board and superintendent who, as has been painfully obvious, are not good stewards with taxpayer money and makes bad financial decisions. They should be concentrating on the one thing that plagues the schools the most. That thing is discipline.
It is past time to go back to some old-school discipline. Start by implementing after-school detention. If that does not work, deny extracurricular activities and suspend bus privileges. Meaningful suspensions and expulsions should be used. If a student does something that is an arrestable offense, they should be arrested, processed and have to make bond like anyone else. Also, bring ROTC in to the high schools and make it mandatory.
The only way to get the behavior under control is to inconvenience the parents. When the parents are inconvenienced by constantly having to leave work, transporting or having to arrange day care, the behavior will stop.
