Delores I. DeLarm, 86, of Wyoming, Iowa, and formerly of rural Onslow, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 11, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
A public graveside service and burial celebrating her life will be held at 12:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at East Iron Hill Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. A public visitation will take place from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.
Delores Iona Tracy was born on March 12, 1938 in Milford, Iowa, to Clifford Albert and Esther Charlotte (Sonnemaker) Tracy. She was a 1956 graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married Richard Arlen DeLarm at the Tracy Family Farm in Baldwin, Iowa, on March 20, 1957. To this union three children were born, Bret, Diane and Patty.
Following high school, Delores worked as a Bell Telephone Operator for one year. She then became a housewife and farmed with her husband, first north of Monmouth for 20 years, and for 42 years west of Canton.
Delores was a member of the East Iron Hill Community Church, and its Ladies Aide. She enjoyed fishing, canning, and baking award-winning pies.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Bret (April) DeLarm of rural Onslow, Iowa, Diane (Matt) Schaeffer of Wellman, Iowa, and Patty (Brian) Podhaski of Wyoming, Iowa; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Burton (Rosemary) Tracy of Wyoming, Iowa, Mark (Lanette) Tracy of Oxford Junction, Iowa, and Jerald (Jan) Tracy of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Tom Soppe of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard on June 2, 2020, 2 sisters in infancy, 3 sisters Shirley (Keith) Crowe, Maxine (Don) Miller, and Leona Soppe, and 2 brothers Carlyle and Darryl Tracy.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Hospice of Jackson County.
