Cocktail Classic starts new fall event at NewBo City Market

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cocktail Classic is back — this time, in the fall.

The annual fundraiser for NewBo City Market, typically held each spring, is returning for a second shot of fun at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024.

With an astrology theme, the three-hour inaugural event will feature an evening of star sign inspired cocktails from local bars and eateries competing for the title of Fall Cocktail Classic Champion.

Each participating vendor at the Astrology Mixology event will craft a signature cocktail themed around a zodiac sign of their choice. Guests can experience the full constellation of the zodiac through cocktails designed to “capture the aura” of each one.

Tickets, $55 per person, are available at newbocitymarket.org/cocktails. Each ticket includes a welcome cocktail from Cedar Ridge Distillery, a cocktail from each competing vendor and the option to dine at any of NewBo City Market’s vendors.

A panel of “celebrity” judges will name the "Cocktail Classic Champion," and attendees also will be given the opportunity to vote for "The People's Choice.“
