Joel Scholz, 65, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church before the Mass. Private burial will immediately follow the Mass.
Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be made to the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Joel is survived by his children, Mark (Lisa) Scholz and Laura (Stephen) Samuel; best bud, Deb Steinbaker; sisters, Rita Scholz and Mary Anne Halvorson; brother, Nick (Kathleen) Scholz; his granddaughter, Brooklyn; and four nieces and nephews.
