Virginia M. Stahle, 96, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 – 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Solon, Iowa.
Virginia was born January 18, 1928, in Atalissa, Iowa, the daughter of Clarance and Ethel (Hart) Reinhart. She graduated from Stone Academy. Virginia was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Stahle on June 25, 1946. She worked at Killian’s, Kacena Company, and Montgomery Ward. Virginia loved cooking and potlucks. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona and traveling with the kids to Minnesota fishing every summer. Virginia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Rick (Barb) Stahle of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Dawn) Stahle of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cheryl (Gary) Keating of Cedar Rapids, and Nedra (Gordon) Coonrod of Barling, Arkansas; sister, Judi Earley of Iowa City, Iowa; grandchildren, Tina, Rebecca, Ryan, Brett, Eric, and Chad; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; sisters, Betty (Bob) Kacena, Lois (Danny) Wilhelm, and Jan Miller; and brother and sisters-in-law, Shirley and Tom Goff, and Bruce and Val Stahle.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at The Gardens and Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care.
