Hinson must think her constituents are gullible

I recently received an email from U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson that makes me wonder what kind of reasoning she feels her constituents will accept. In it, she mentions a vague number of illegal immigrants that have entered the country then asks me to imagine if only half of them vote in federal elections. Wow! Only half? The reality must be much worse, right? Truth is, only about half of all eligible voters vote in the average US federal election, so those imaginary illegal voters would be putting us to shame!
Illegal immigrants — along with legal ones who are not US citizens — already cannot vote in federal elections, and few ever try. Fewer still succeed. She knows that but must think her constituents are fools who will swallow any line she feeds us. She goes on to say that Tim Walz allowed illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses in Minnesota. She suggests that he will “expand this policy nationally to allow illegal immigrants and noncitizens to vote in every election.”
Wait, what? The policy she cited is about obtaining driver's licenses — does she think we are too stupid to be able to tell the difference between driving and voting? I guess so.
In November, let’s all consider casting a vote for someone else — someone who does not conflate driving with voting or the imaginary with the real while thinking these arguments should convince her gullible constituents.
