Robert Lee Hamilton, 52, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. He will be laid to rest at Little Grove Cemetery in Lavinia, Tenn.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Ginger M. Hamilton, Cedar Rapids, and Patricia Colbert (George), Mesa, Ariz.; nephews, David L. Roach II, Cedar Rapids, and Donta K. Colbert, San Tan Valley, Ariz.; nieces, Crystal M. Roach, Ames, Iowa, and Bridget L. Clark, Cedar Rapids; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ethel Mae Hamilton (Clark) and Robert Lee Hamilton Sr.; brother, Ricky L. Clark; and niece, Jasmine N. Roach.
Robert L. Hamilton was born Dec. 7, 1965, in Jackson, Tenn. He moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, shortly after his birth, where he would live the rest of his life. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1984 and, upon graduation, was employed at J.J. Security at The Eastern Iowa Airport from 1984 to 1998. He was an all-around athlete and exceptional basketball player for the Washington Warriors. He was loved by many and truly will be missed.
