Tatum Ali Schroeder, 17, of Atkins, Iowa, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice Unit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A celebration of Tatum’s life will be held on September 8, 2024, from 1 - 4 p.m. at Bloomsbury Farm, 3260 69th Street, Atkins, Iowa.
Tatum was born June 1, 2007, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Brad and Shannon (Ratliff) Schroeder. She attended Benton Community High School. Tatum was a member of the National Honor Society. She was active in volleyball, basketball, soccer, and softball. During her lengthy stay at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital, she enjoyed spending time making blankets for other pediatric cancer patients. Tatum loved music, sunsets, and flowers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her nephew, Maverick. Tatum will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her parents, Bradley and Shannon; siblings, Tucker (Samantha), Tanner, Turner (Angie), and Talulah; nephew, Maverick; grandparents, Bruce and Lonnette Schroeder and Don Ratliff and Alice Ratliff; uncles, aunts, and cousins; and her beloved dog, CoCo.
