Jim Stohlmann, age 84 of Conroy, Iowa, passed away August 23, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona, at his nephew’s home surrounded by family. Born March 3, 1940, in Williamsburg, Iowa to Herbert and Clara Stohlmann. He grew up in Conroy and graduated from Hilton Consolidated School in 1956.
Jim joined the Air Force and spent 26 years being stationed in the Orient, Berlin, Washington D.C. and many others. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees while working in the Intelligence Division. Retired Captain James Stohlmann spent his last years in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and retired there.
After retirement from the USAF, he went to work for Science Application International.
Jim was an avid golfer and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for many years.
He is survived by his sister Judy Shepherd and her husband Tom; his two nephews, Jim Hansel and his wife Tresha, and Brian Hansel and his wife Katie, and their families.
Jim has donated his body to science and a private service will be held later.
