Darlene Helen Sorenson, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Heritage Specialty Care. A private graveside service will be held at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.
Darlene was born November 7, 1937, in Norway, Iowa, the daughter of John and Grace (Davis) Becker. She was united in marriage to Andrew Sorenson on July 21, 1954, in Norway. Darlene came from a large family with 13 siblings. She was a loving homemaker who also worked at Nissen Trampoline. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, and was a member of St. Ludmila Church. Her family will miss her and the good times they had playing games.
Survivors include her children, Sheryl (Kevin) Horman, Sandra (Doug) Spidle, Andrew (Melissa) Sorenson, and Robert (Gwen) Sorenson; Darlene’s four siblings; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and nine siblings.
