Sharon Lee Tomas Barnhardt, 81, died June 10, 2024 in Louisville, Ky.
Sharon was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on July 15, 1942. She was a 1960 graduate of Oxford High School. She attended the University of Louisville and furthered her education by taking technical chemistry classes. She worked for Celanese as a technical representative, which is where she met her husband of 37 years and love of her life, Graham Barnhardt. Sharon and Graham loved to travel and enjoyed many amazing adventures together and with their family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Minnie Tomas; and her son Francis Jeffrey ‘Jay’ Scheetz (Joy).
She is survived by her spouse, Graham Barnhardt; her siblings Judy Beckler (Elmer), Mary McAtee (Gene), Gary Tomas (Nancy), Allen Tomas (Sandy), and Curtis Tomas (Waneta); her children John Scheetz (Cruz) and Joel Scheetz (Sarah); her grandchildren Jessica Davenport, Tiffany Davenport, James Davenport, Jade Davenport, Garrett Scheetz, Patrick Scheetz, and Elizabeth Scheetz; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Oxford Cemetery, Black Hawk Ave NW, Oxford IA, 52322. A celebration of life and dinner gathering will be at 6 p.m. the same day at the Jensen’s Farm, 2909 V Avenue, Parnell IA, 52325.
