Submit a Milestone

Milestones is a feature of the Sunday Gazette. You can submit your milestone online or by visiting our office in person during business hours (Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.)

Deadline for Milestones

The Milestones submission deadline is typically nine (9) days before the targeted publication date, at 12 noon on Fridays.

Steps to submit your milestone:

1. Please print and fill out the form below.
2. If you plan to include a photo, select a layout size that can accommodate a photo, and the form will then update so that you can upload a photo. NOTE: The Gazette requires a proof of copyright release for any professional images.
3. Send all materials to milestones@thegazette.com or call 319-368-8873 if you need assistance
4. Once we have prepared your announcement, we will email you a proof and total cost, along with instructions on payment.

Prepayment is required for all announcements, which are priced by the layout size. Dimensions listed in layout options (page 2 of order form) are in inches. Word count limits are approximate, and may vary depending on photo size. Word counts also include headlines. Wording may be edited for clarity/length. Photos run in color unless requested otherwise.

Recommendations for Photos

Both full color photos or black/white photos may be submitted. Photos may be submitted by email, mail, or dropped off at The Gazette during business hours. A wallet-size photo or larger is recommended. Glossy finished photos reproduce the best.

Do not cut photos down to size. Photos will be resized and cropped as needed by our team. Photos will be returned if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is provided. Photos left at The Gazette will be discarded after two months. The Gazette will take reasonable care of photos submitted. The Gazette assumes no financial responsibility for
original photos that are lost or inadvertently damaged in the process.
