CEDAR RAPIDS — A new fundraiser is being planned for September in place of Dinner on the Bridge, the annual fundraiser for The District of Czech Village and New Bohemia.
Taste of the District will debut from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Olympic South Side Theater, 1202 Third St. SE. It will feature tastings from restaurants and food vendors throughout the municipal district in southeast and southwest Cedar Rapids.
Uncertainties with construction east of the Bridge of Lions on 16th Avenue, combined with unusually wet weather, have postponed the annual Dinner on the Bridge to 2025. Taste of the District will act as this year’s sponsor recognition event for the nonprofit.
Individual tickets are available for $75 at Eventbrite.com and include:
- Two drink tickets
- A $20 “District Dollars” voucher valid at participating businesses
- A full tasting of six different appetizers from various restaurants and food vendors in The District
- A silent auction with exclusive offers and experiences
- Live music featuring guitarist and humorist Billy Heller
Attendees at the event in the Olympic South Side Theater in NewBo can enjoy food from:
- Lion Bridge Brewing
- Lacayo
- The Full Bowl
- Anh’s Bread Therapy
- K.C. Cakes
- Oja
