Carol Ann Lamont, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the University of Iowa Health Care Center, Iowa City, Iowa. Private Graveside Services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Iowa.
Carol Ann was born July 7, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter to Glen and Evelyn (Kucera) Unruh. She married Hugh Lamont on July 4, 2005, and worked as a city clerk for the city of Camanche and Mechanicsville.
Carol Ann was a board member and secretary for the history center in Mechanicsville. She was also a member of BINGO and volunteered at the food pantry. She was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeye Athletics, especially women’s basketball and football.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Unruh, Jackie Williams, Pam Smith, and Wendy (Stan Swenson) Mertka; sister-in-law, Marcia Unruh; grandchildren, Trey Balster, Caitlin Coleman, and Marcus Balster; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Doug Unruh.
