WATERLOO — A Marion man has been arrested in connection with a Saturday shooting in Waterloo that sent one person to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the knee.
On Tuesday, Waterloo police arrested Daquavion Deshaun Williams, 19, on charges of willful injury causing serious injury and intimidation with a weapon. He is being held at the Black Hawk County Jail. Bond was set at $100,000.
Neighbors called 911 around noon on Saturday after hearing gunfire, and police found the victim in the area of Sunnyside and West Mullan avenues. Bullets also struck a nearby garage, and police found 9 mm shell casings.
Officers used surveillance videos that had footage of a GMC Envoy in the area, according to a criminal complaint. Officers with the Violent Crime Apprehension Team later searched Williams’ home in Marion where an Envoy was parked and found a 9 mm handgun. A spent 9 mm casing was also found in the vehicle.
