Patricia “Pat” Ann Wright, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Pat, under “photos and videos or media,” starting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Pat was born July 18, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Edwin and Doris (Alderman) Wilson. She graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1967. Pat was united in marriage to Stephen Ray Wright on September 21, 1968, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a title clerk for the Linn County Department of Motor Vehicles. Pat and Steve were active members of the Prairie Tractor Pullers. The couple also loved camping at Yellow River State Forest and became involved in the community by volunteering their time to maintain the grounds. Pat enjoyed fishing and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Steve Wright; sons, Jeff (Jill) Wright of Cedar Rapids, and Al (Kristi) Wright of Van Horne, Iowa; six grandchildren, Haylie (Austin) Canterbury, Shelby (Alex) Hendricks, Taylor (Erik) Ryan, Cody, Sarah, and Kaylie Wright; seven great-grandchildren, Devin, Logan, Rylie, Keller, Watson, Parker, and Rollins; and brother, Jim Wilson of Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Doris Wilson; and sister-in-law, OraFay Wilson.
