A three-episode documentary series about a 12-year-old Iowa cold case is set to be released next week on HBO Max.
The documentary will tell the story of Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins, cousins who disappeared in 2012 from Evansdale. Lyric was 10 and Elizabeth was 8 when they went for a bike ride on July 13, 2012, and never came home.
About six months later, the girls’ bodies were found by hunters at Seven Bridges Wildlife Park, a secluded area about 20 miles from Evansdale.
No one has ever been arrested in relation to their deaths.
The three-part documentary, titled “Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth?” will debut Aug. 8 on HBO Max, a subscription steaming service. The director, Dylan Sires, formerly was a news photographer in Iowa who covered the case.
