HOLIDAY LAKE
Jacque Lee (Latham) Sanderson, age 74, of Holiday Lake, formerly of Keystone, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Brooklyn Community Estate. She was surrounded by loving family and compassionate caregivers during her last days and at the time of her passing.
The family will hold a visitation on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 9:00 until 11:00 AM, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Keystone Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Keystone. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Josiah J. A. Schultz.. Burial will be immediately after the service at Keystone Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Keystone Turner Hall.
Jacque was born on December 22, in Marshalltown, the daughter of Ernest and Jennie (McAteer) Latham, She graduated from L.D.F. High School in Le Grand, and Westmar University in Le Mars, IA. She received her master’s degree and advanced master’s degrees in education, from the University of Northern Iowa. Jacque was united in marriage to Tim Sanderson on August 9, 1969, at the Quaker Church in Le Grand. Jacque worked as a special education teacher at Benton Community Schools for 33 years.
Jacque and Tim lived in Keystone for most of their married life, retiring to Holiday Lake. Jacque dearly loved her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed golfing at Tara Hills Golf Course, and spending time at the lake.
She is survived by her husband Tim; her children, Nichole (Jason) Steffen of Denver, CO, Ryan (Julie) Sanderson of Bondurant; grandchildren, Lily Steffen of Ft. Myers, FL, and Chloe, and Caleb Sanderson of Bondurant; as well as her sister, Judy Roberts of Urbandale.
Jacque was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dennis Latham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Brooklyn Community Estates CNA Educational Scholarship.
