Arthur C. Kloos, 89, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, July 16, 2024, in Sun City, AZ, where he resided for 20 years. A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 pm, Sunday, July 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment with military honors will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Art is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen; daughters, Becky, Gina and Kathy; stepchildren, Kevin and Kim; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; former wife, Janet; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Essie Kloos; nine siblings; son, Tom; daughter, Kelli; and grandson, Christopher.
Art retired from the Iowa City Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was a volunteer firefighter and served two years as Mayor in Shellsburg.
