David Edward DeChant, 56, of Alburnett passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 surrounded by family.
David was born in Lorain, OH on May 31, 1968. At a young age he moved to Cedar Rapids with his family. He enjoyed watching racing and football, and spending time with his family and friends.
David is survived by his daughter BreeAnn DeChant (Andrew Young) and grandchildren Lily, Brayden, and Blakely of Cedar Rapids, father Bill DeChant of Sandusky, OH, sister Kimberly Gudenkauf (special friend Norman Dean) of Ryan, brothers Dan DeChant of Dixon, IL, and Don (Dodie) DeChant of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Judy and Ron Neese, and brother-in-law James Gudenkauf.
A celebration of life will be held for David on Saturday, August 17 from 12-4 pm at Christ Community Church fellowship hall at 3000 Alburnet Rd., Marion, IA 52302.
