Christopher Francis Schlicht of Cedar Rapids, passed peacefully on Sunday July 14, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, after a long battle with kidney disease. Private family services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Cedar Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.
Christopher was born on May 25, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Francis and Patricia (Leary) Schlicht. He was a graduate of Regis High School and studied religion and philosophy at Grinnell College. He enjoyed classical music and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all his family.
Survivors include his siblings, Mark (Gail) Stark, Cathy (Mike) Lorimer, Mark Stark, Ruth Olive, Betty (Brad) Hoenstein, Barbara Schlicht and Anette Schlicht, his nieces, Sarah (Rusty) Blumer, Nicole (Jason) Schottmiller, Mari Price, Laura Olive, Corinne (Tristan) Thrasher, Lauren Schlicht, Amanda Schlicht and Miranda Schlicht, nephews, James Stark, Denver Linvell, Jason Linvell, Ryan Wood, Mark Andrew Stark and Sean (Abbi) Hoenstein, many cousins and grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Michael and his nephew Mitchell Odell.
