Darrell Walter Fratzke, 90, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, formally of Hiawatha, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A private graveside service will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Darrell was born on September 10, 1933, in Independence, Iowa, to Albert and Margaret (O’Brian) Fratzke. He graduated from Independence High School in 1948. He married Ruth Louise Fox on June 12, 1953, in Independence, Iowa. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired as a machinist in 1999. He enjoyed singing karaoke, playing hand and foot, and cribbage. Darrell was an active member of Lehigh Acres Senior Citizens Center and greatly cherished the time spent with his friends there.
Survivors include his children; Reva (Leonard) Tucker of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Ronald (Yolanda “Sue”) Fratzke of Azle, Texas, Steven (Lisa) Fratzke of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Dara Morreo of Bristol, Rhode Island, and Leon (Cheryl) Fratzke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three Great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, and brothers, Everett, Louis, Melvin, Aaron, and Lavern Fratzke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a Senior Center in honor of Darrell.
