Mary Lee Frasher, 78 of Robins, Iowa and formerly of Independence, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion, Iowa.
Mary Lee was born on June 20, 1946, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbert Lee and Edna Lucille (Parrish) Terry. She grew up in Independence and graduated from Jefferson High School with the Class of 1964. On September 18, 1971, she and Vernon Joseph Frasher were married at First Baptist Church in Independence. Mary worked for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids until her first child was born. She then became a stay-at-home mom until her children were both in elementary school. Later in life she returned to the workforce and worked for Cedar Rapids Community Schools as an assistant food service worker for 20+ years.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Vernon; two daughters Erin (Eric) Ellison of Waterloo, and Kimberly (Jerry) Frasher Perry of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren Marissa Ellison and Brayden Ellison; two stepgrandchildren Zach Perry and Anika Perry, and a brother, Donald (Mary) Terry of Cedar Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Terry, and sister JoAnn Eschen.
A visitation will be held from 4 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, July 9 at the Reiff Family Center in Independence, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 10 at the Reiff Family Center in Independence, Iowa. The burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence.
