Business Breakfast Series: Inflation’s impact in Eastern Iowa will be the topic of this month’s Business Breakfast Series presented by The Gazette at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Merge, 136 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.
Panelists will be David Barker, Barker Financial; Jennifer Bennett, Shive-Hattery; Kristin Mondanaro, Iowa City & Coralville ReUnion; Chip Reeves, MidWest One; and Ying Sa, Community CPA & Associates. Gazette Executive Editor Zack Kucharski will moderate.

Small business of the week: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, last week selected Barn Wired of Keokuk County as her small business of the week.
Amanda Snakenberg began selling her barn board and barbed wire signs at craft fairs and farmers markets in 2015. In 2017, she opened Barn Wired on Sigourney’s town square. It includes a decor shop, coffee bar, lunches and a beverage garden.
Ernst, the ranking member on the Senate’s Small Business Committee, is naming one exceptional small business of the week in each of Iowa’s counties during this congressional session.
