Patricia Ann Zimmerman, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed peacefully at home in Gainesville, VA, on June 21, 2024, after a 10-year battle with cancer.
Pat was born December 23, 1933 to Archie and Gladys Hoy (Young) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her passing was the last of 6 siblings, Florence, Betty, Charlene, Virginia, and Dick. After graduating from Wilson High, Pat married Carl L Zimmerman Jr. on September 29, 1951. She lived in Cedar Rapids for most of her life until she & Carl moved to Gainesville, VA, in 2020, to be nearer to their loving immediate family who will miss her immensely, son M. Scott (Sharon), and 2 grandsons, M. David (Kristin) and Tyler S. (Emily). In addition, she’ll be missed by her nieces & nephews, mostly residing in Cedar Rapids, whom she cared for & enjoyed so much. Pat enjoyed her time outdoors with the sun and warm breezes on her face while fishing, walking, & reading. All those close to her knew her fondness for Pepsi, dark chocolate, and making scotcheroo bars for/with her family. She retired from Vector in Marion from her job in accounting.
To honor Pat's wishes, services will be private.
