Stephen G. Wilson, 57, of Algonquin, IL passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1966, in Ryan, Iowa, to Roger and Marilyn (nee Supple) Wilson.
A graduate of Central College, Steve was a dedicated flight attendant for American Airlines for 35 years and proudly served as a Union Representative. His career allowed him to see the world, something he cherished deeply.
As a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Steve had a passion for baseball, which he enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching. He was known for his sense of humor, patience, gentleness, and fierce pride in his family. Steve loved to laugh, tell “Dad jokes,” and was an avid reader of biographies and comedies. His favorite movie was “The Princess Bride,” which he could recite from start to finish and still laugh throughout. Steve was a devoted member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin and an active participant in the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 27 years, Heather (nee Glendenning) Wilson; his children, Ian Wilson of Columbus, OH, and Marian Wilson of Kalamazoo, MI; his mother, Kay Wilson of Ryan, IA; and his siblings, Michelle (Pat Schmidt) Wilson of Marion, IA, and Sherrie (Joanne Bell) Wilson of Des Moines, IA.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Roger Wilson.
