‘Mallard’ rankles for the sake of pleasing the right wing

While I respect The Gazette's desire to appease right-wingers by running Bruce Tinsley's "Mallard" on its Opinion pages, and balancing Tinsley with old Gary Trudeau "Doonesbury" strips, it's time for both to go.
Tinsley's description of Judge Juan Merchan's as a "kangaroo court" is unacceptable. Prosecutor Alvin Bragg had to convince an independent grand jury to indict Trump. He then succeeded in convincing twelve ordinary citizens on the trial jury that Trump was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt on all 34 counts of felony fraud. Joe Biden had nothing to do with Bragg holding Trump accountable; Trump was afforded the same right to counsel as any criminal defendant in this country. Trump lost, just as he lost the 2020 election.
The column inches now devoted to "Doonesbury" and "Mallard" can be better used for community letters. Shame on The Gazette's editorial staff for giving space to Tinsley's false, unfunny cartoon.
