Garden Oasis farm to host hands-on field day Sunday
Farm near Coggon markets to six cities, including Cedar Rapids and Iowa City
Garden Oasis Farm, operated by Sarah and T.D. Holub, will host a hands-on field day Sunday on a 10-acre farm near Coggon.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday and includes testing a variety of hand tools and gaining experience transplanting crops. Attendees also will have the opportunity to see and discuss greenhouse organization and workflow.
The hands-on field day is part of the 2024 Practical Farmers of Iowa field day schedule that includes 60 farms across five states. Garden Oasis Farm is listed as a community supported agriculture farm on the Iowa CSA directory serving Cedar Rapids, Center Point, Coggon, Independence, Iowa City and Manchester.
Admission is free but an RSVP is required on the Practical Farmer’s website.
