CEDAR RAPIDS — Two Cedar Rapids men were arrested Tuesday on charges they robbed a man at gunpoint Monday.
Dequan Autrell Jenkins, 26, and Cory Glenn Clubb, 18, are each charged with first-degree robbery and being persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapons. Jenkins is also charged with possession of marijuana.
According to criminal complaints, Jenkins and Clubb met with Logan Spading at the Hy-Vee at 3235 Oakland Rd. NE in Cedar Rapids. The three walked behind the grocery store, where Spading began to feel uncomfortable and started to walk away. Jenkins stopped him, putting him in a headlock with a gun to his head.
Jenkins and Clubb took Spading’s backpack, which had an iPad and cash. Spading told police the gun they used was a 9 mm, the complaints state.
When police located Jenkins and Clubb, they said they found a gun in Clubb’s possession, as well as marijuana and Spading’s iPad, according to the complaints. Clubb and Jenkins were booked Tuesday into the Linn County Jail.
