JAMES WARREN PRIOR

James Warren Prior, 71, of Marengo, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, in Marshalltown. Services: 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Marshalltown, with special honors by Jeremy Davis with the Iowa National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Prior; children, Daniel (Tammy) Prior, Nicole (William) Yoho, Kaleena (Joshua) Fitzsimmons and Matt (Sheila) Stevens; brothers, Larry Prior and John Welinski; sisters, Mildrid Dances and Kathy May; his mother, Irene Snyder; 23 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Warren Prior; and a son, Justin Warren Prior.
James served two years in the U.S. Army and was wounded in Vietnam. He earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor.
