Work release urged if Trump jailed

"I'm OK with" jail time or house arrest, said former President Donald Trump following his 34-count conviction in the so-called "hush money trial."
He spoke as private citizen Trump seeking election to a second term. As President Trump he shouldn't stand for just that. As I said in my June 3, 2021, Gazette guest column, "Planning for felon as president," a reelected but convicted Trump should get work release. A wholly confined Trump would be hard pressed to serve as protector of the Constitution, commander in chief of the armed services and leader of the free world.
