A Lisbon man was taken by emergency helicopter to the hospital Friday morning after his motorcycle collided with a Subaru on Highway 100, according to Marion police.
Aaron Gerbo, 44, was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson with his 11-year-old daughter when they collided with a 2015 Subaru WRX. The motorcycle was traveling west on Highway 100 and the Subaru had just turned east onto the highway from southbound 44th Street. Law enforcement was called to the scene at 11:02 a.m. Friday.
Gerbo and his daughter were both thrown from the bike. Gerbo was not wearing a helmet. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was flown to an area hospital by Lifeguard Air Ambulance.
His daughter was wearing a helmet, and she was transported by a ground ambulance. Officials have not released the name of the girl, or information about the extent of the injuries.
The driver of the Subaru, identified by police as Matthew Miller, 30, of Cedar Rapids, was not injured.
The road was closed to traffic for more than two hours. The crash remains under investigation by the Marion Police Department.
