ALICIA LYN MARIE BASCOM
Cedar Rapids
Alicia Lyn Marie Bascom, 39, passed away Aug. 4, 2018, in Iowa City. A celebration of life will be held Friday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Revent Life Church, 351 Eighth Ave. SW.
Alicia was born in Iowa City on Jan. 12, 1979. She grew up in Cedar Rapids.
She loved bowling, swimming, music concerts, barbecues and watching the Green Bay Packers. Her smile could light up a room. She had a kind heart and always was willing to help others. She also was one of the strongest women I (her husband) have known, having to deal with being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, having a major stroke and heart surgery, all in a three-year period. Following a recent surgery, complications arose that led to organ failures. She fought hard to the end surrounded by those who loved her.
She was survived by her husband, Larry Bascom; her sons, Kane Lambert and Avery Bascom; her mother, Connie Myer; father, Don Myer; and grandparents, Merle and Georgene Grim and Don Cronbaugh.
Donations are welcome in lieu of flowers.
A special thank-you to Alicia's sister-in-law, Vicki Bloxham, for being that extra support and push Alicia needed going through everything.
