A West Point man is facing charges in Linn County of attempting to entice a minor through an online dating site.
Aaron Justice Dicken, 29, is charged with enticing a minor under 16 -- sexual purpose, and providing false information to the sex offender registry. Dicken has been listed on the sex offender registry since he was convicted in 2020 of dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
According to a criminal complaint for the enticing a minor charge, Dicken connected with a spoof account on the dating site Skout on May 20. The account was being run by law enforcement but portrayed a 14-year-old. After being told the child was 14, Dicken asked to perform sex acts with the child.
Dicken was arrested Wednesday and is being held in the Linn County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
