Robert L. Hirschfeld
Cedar Rapids
Robert L. Hirschfeld, 87, of Cedar Rapids, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Per his request, there is no service at this time.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Sparrow); his son Bob; daughter-in-law Terri; grandchildren Zachary (Kaleigh Pauls) and Nathan; and sister-in-law, Deb Hirschfeld.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Winifred, brother Donald, and sister Sue Meek and brother-in-law Don.
Bob served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his return he met his wife Maggie to whom he was married to for over 60 years. He was an athlete all his life, playing softball, basketball and was an avid golfer, spending his winters in Fort Myers, FL, with Maggie after retirement from Cherry Burrell. He cherished his grandsons Zachary and Nathan Hirschfeld with whom they all shared a great love of sports. Being from Milwaukee, WI, he loved the Packers, Brewers and Bucks. After moving to Iowa, he became a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan. We will miss Dad’s easygoing personality and his tremendous sense of humor.
We would like to thank Abbie, Brenda and the rest of the staff at Country House for their extraordinary care for Dad.
