Paul Louis Bryant, 79, of Bertram, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at his home. The family will greet friends from 9 – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, with an 11 a.m. service to follow. The family invites guests to bring their classic cars to the visitation and service for one last cruise-in to honor Paul’s memory. Burial will follow at Campbell Cemetery in Bertram.
Paul was born on July 17, 1944, in El Reno, Oklahoma, the son of Uland and Viola (Rush) Bryant. He was a graduate of Washington High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army in Korea. Upon returning, he had worked for various companies throughout his career, usually in “Mr. Fix-it” roles. Later he worked for Square D as a mechanic, before his retirement. Paul was a car enthusiast. He loved to get together with his close-knit group of Car Club buddies to enjoy Saturday breakfasts at HyVee, lunches, cruise nights, and car shows. Paul had a heart for people in need. It was not in his nature to say no. He always showed up. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul is survived and lovingly remembered by his siblings, Wayne (Alice) Bryant of Nashville, Tennessee, Stephen (Angela) Bryant of Waveland, Mississippi, and Shirley (Daniel) Brown-Healy of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Carol Bryant; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; close friend, Dixie Long; as well as many other close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Terri (Chitty) Bryant; and brother, Darrell Bryant.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to The Salvation Army or Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa.
