Michael Leonard Sevart, 70, of Atkins, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in his home. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids. Latin Catholic Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, located at 1224 5th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Mike was born on July 3, 1953, in Girard, Kansas, the son of Vincent and Letha Sevart. He worked for thirty-one years at Midland Forge. Mike enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He was devout catholic being involved in as much as he could for St. Wenceslaus and Immaculate Conceptions parishes.
Mike is survived by his children, August (Becky) Sevart, Jen (Jon) Platt and Josh Sevart; his grandchildren Sky, Amanda, Aidyn, Addisyn, and Jada; his sister Jane Kolek; his niece Valerie (Frank) Potucek; his nephews Travis McCormick and Phillip (Heather) Kolek.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Regina Wolfe.
Memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in his name.
