Rebecca (Becca) Hoyt
REBECCA "BECCA" LEIGH HOYT
Layton, Utah
Rebecca "Becca" Leigh Hoyt, 40, of Layton, Utah, formerly of Springville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, unexpectedly at her home after a long battle with heart disease.
Rebecca was born May 29, 1978, in Soda Springs, Idaho. Her parents are Steven and Linda Luthi of West Jordan, Utah, and Jerry and Jody Klatt of Placerville, Calif. Her in-laws are Patrick and Melinda Hoyt of Springville, Iowa. She had many siblings on both sides of each family.
She married the love of her life, Shannon Hoyt, on May 12, 2001, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. To this union brought their beautiful daughter, Cecilia Irene.
Funeral services were held Aug. 3, 2018, at the Olympus Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City, Utah, by Pastor Phil Hughes. Beautiful tributes were given by Shannon, her mother Jody and her father Steven.
Rebecca had many passions in her life. She loved Shannon and Cecilia with all her heart and soul. Rebecca loved family dinners, family vacations and any other event that would bring family together. She loved New Kids on the Block, theater, her date nights with Shannon and the Harry Potter series, and was an active volunteer with the Salt Lake City Comic-Con. Rebecca became a family readiness coordinator when Shannon joined the Navy, and she helped many soldiers and families with her knowledge. She loved her Iowa Hawkeyes, even when living in Utah. A little bit of the Hawkeyes went to Heaven with her. Rebecca was very active in Jobs Daughters International, of which Cecilia is a member. Rebecca became a second mom to many of the girls in this organization, who loved and respected her.
Rebecca will be missed and remembered by those whom she touched in her life.
