Glen Edward Frese Jr., 58, of Atkins, IA passed away May 29, 2024 surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer.
Glen was born December 5, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Growing up in rural Watkins, IA, he graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1984. Following school, Glen farmed and drove truck with his father on the Frese family farm for 40 years. Glen married Karen Sorum on June 17, 1995 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Norway. Together they raised their three children in rural Norway.
Glen loved tractor pulling and was the President of Iowa Tractor Pullers Association and board member of the Outlaw Tractor Pulling Association. Glen and his family enjoyed farming, listening to music and traveling together, usually to tractor pulls. Glen also enjoyed working in the shop, and spending time supporting his children in all that they did.
Glen was a devoted Christian and always made sure his children attended Mass. Glen was not one to say I love you often, but you just knew it. He was hardworking, strong, determined and cared deeply for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Atkins; children, Louis Frese of Watkins, Burgandy (Brandon Sutfin) Frese of Montezuma, Asa Frese of Atkins; father, Glen Sr. of Watkins; family and friends.
Glen is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Rotter; in-laws, Howard and Judy Sorum; brother, Jeffrey Lee Michael Frese.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Norway, IA with Fr. Jacob Dunne officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 3rd in the parish hall. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com
