I first got to know Rod Sullivan, almost 20 years ago, during his first visit with my government students, an invitation he never refused for decades. His commitment to ensuring young people’s voices were heard was my first introduction to Rod’s commitment to everything he does in his personal and professional life. Over the years, I have watched him work diligently on behalf of those who struggle to thrive in Johnson County. He fought on behalf of all Johnson County citizens when he worked to raise the minimum wage, to make housing more affordable, and to expand access to mental health services. Rod has consistently advocated for urban and rural conservation and preservation; his efforts contributed to the saving of the Historic Poor Farm and Sutliff Bridge.
Now, I call Rod Sullivan my friend. I’ve seen first hand his love for Johnson County and its citizens. At every event he attends or community member he stops to listen to, Rod evidences his desire to ensure everyone has the opportunity to love living here as much as he does. I believe his continued leadership on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors will enable him to help the county grow for everyone. I encourage you to vote for Rod Sullivan on June 4 for County Supervisor.
