Leta Mae Staley, 86, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Leta was born on October 1, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Clifford and Maude (Taylor) Bristol. On December 29, 1956, Leta was united in marriage to Lewis Erdman Staley in Flint, Michigan. After raising their five children, they have had 35-plus years of Square Dancing and motorcycle riding. Her hobbies were crocheting, genealogy, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. Leta will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Leta is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Lewis Staley; children, Jeff (Karen) Staley, Jules (Tracy) Staley, Jansen (Janet) Staley, Jill (Clark) Havran, and Joelsen (Michele) Staley; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Velma.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
