CEDAR RAPIDS — ABC Acres Gifts and Produce opened for the season April 26. The store, owned by Abby Costello, bills itself as “the home of all things Iowa grown and Iowa crafted.” It’s open through October at 6657 Mount Vernon Rd. SE.

The store sells fresh eggs, raw milk, butter, cheese and bread, produce and other items such as goat’s milk soap, plants, honey, jams, and gifts made by more than 20 Iowa consignors.

Costello said on a Facebook post that she had the idea a couple of years ago when she decide she wanted to work from home and work on the farm. She started about three years ago by selling tomatoes from her vehicle and it has evolved into what it is now.
