CEDAR RAPIDS — Here’s your second look at what we call Iowans In The Minors. It’s actually a bi-weekly look at how baseball players in the major leagues and affiliated minor leagues are fairing.
That’s guys from the Gazette area and University of Iowa.
All the following statistics are through Friday.
Keaton Anthony (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Outfielder hitting .291 in 25 games for low-Class A Clearwater of the Florida State League. More walks (21) than strikeouts (17). Also has 11 RBIs.
Jake Bockenstedt (Cedar Rapids Washington/Chicago White Sox) — Pitcher hasn’t given up a run over his last two appearances for low-A Kannapolis (Carolina League), spanning 9 1/3 innings. Has 2-3 record and 2.54 earned run average in six appearances this season, five starts.
Will Christophersen (Iowa/Los Angeles Angels) — Has thrown 20 2/3 innings over 10 relief appearances for low-Class A Inland Empire of California League. Has allowed 17 hits and struck out 33. A 1-0 record and 5.23 ERA.
Duncan Davitt (Iowa/Tampa Bay Rays) — In starting rotation for high-A Bowling Green (South Atlantic League). Has made seven starts, has 3-2 record and 3.32 ERA. Just 24 hits allowed in 38 innings with 44 strikeouts.Threw seven two-hit shutout innings against Brooklyn in his last start.
Jack Dreyer (Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Lefty reliever was recently promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City (Pacific Coast League). Is 0-1 with 7.36 ERA in three appearances. Went unscored upon in nine appearances (14 2/3 innings) at Double-A Tulsa, which prompted the promotion.
Calvin Harris (Western Dubuque/Chicago White Sox) — Catcher hitting .250 in 13 games for high-A Winston-Salem (South Atlantic League). Has a homer and nine RBIs. Went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBIs and two walks in a game this week against Asheville.
Grant Judkins (Grinnell/Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Pitcher is 0-3 with a 3.33 ERA for high-A Lansing of the Midwest League. Seven appearances, four starts. A 1.19 WHIP.
Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Pirates pitcher threw a complete game in a win May 6 against the Los Angeles Angels, giving up just a run. In start earlier this week at Milwaukee, threw six shutout innings for the win. Is 4-3 with 3.93 ERA in nine starts this season. Has 51 strikeouts in 55 innings.
Austin Krob (Lisbon/San Diego Padres) — Left-hander has has season-high back-to-back pitching stints of 5 1/3 and 5 2/3 innings, giving up three total earned runs for Double-A San Antonio (Texas League). Is 1-1 with a 4.80 ERA in seven appearances this season, six starts.
Ty Langenberg (Iowa/Minnesota Twins) — Is 0-3 with a 4.22 ERA in six starts for low-A Fort Myers (Florida State League). Has 35 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings.
Adam Mazur (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Righty has made one start for Triple-A El Paso (Pacific Coast League) since being moved up from Double-A. It lasted six innings (at Las Vegas), with Mazur allowing just six hits and pair of runs, striking out six.
Mason McCoy (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Teammates with Mazur at El Paso, infielder has boosted his batting average to .252 in 39 games. Has three homers, 22 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
Cole McDonald (New Hampton/Iowa/Houston Astros) — Pitcher just came off injured list for Triple-A Sugar Land (Pacific Coast League). Has no record and 10.97 ERA in 11 relief appearances.
Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher is with the high-A Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League. Hitting .176 in 23 games, with two RBIs. Also has 12 walks and four stolen bases.
A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Miami Marlins) — Back to the bullpen for the lefty after four poor starts to begin the season and a stint on the injured list. Picked up a save in his last appearance for Miami at Detroit.
Colin Rea (Cascade/Northern Iowa/Milwaukee Brewers) — Went head to head against Pittsburgh and Keller in a game earlier this week in Milwaukee. Gave up three runs in six innings and took the loss. Is 3-1 with a 3.45 ERA in eight starts this season.
Tommy Specht (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Outfielder has played in 25 games for low-A Down East of the Carolina League. Hitting .190 in 84 at-bats, with nine RBIs.
Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Colorado Rockies) — Right-hander has made six pitching starts for Double-A Hartford of the Eastern League. Has 1-4 record and 9.12 ERA.
Trenton Wallace (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Southpaw has been terrific for Double-A New Hampshire (Eastern League). Has 2-1 record and 1.99 ERA in seven starts. Just 17 hits allowed in 31 2/3 innings, with 18 walks and 41 strikeouts.
Keaton Winn (Pekin High School/Iowa Western Community College/San Francisco Giants) — Is 3-6 with a 6.16 ERA in nine starts for the Giants. Just place on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain.
