IOWA CITY — Class of 2025 quarterback Ryan Fitzgerald has committed to Iowa, he announced Friday on social media. Ryan Fitzgerald, the son of ex-Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald, is committing as a preferred walk-on.
Fitzgerald chose the non-scholarship opportunity at Iowa over scholarship offers from Temple, Western Illinois, Ball State, Eastern Michigan and North Dakota State, among others.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback from Wilmette, Ill., has a three-star rating from 247Sports. Iowa already has a commitment from a scholarship quarterback — Jimmy Sullivan from Fort Wayne, Ind.
