Michael Ray Pence, 76, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away on, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, IA. Visitation: 11:00-2:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2024, with Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., at the Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, IA. Burial: Saint John’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.
Michael was born on September 20, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, IoIAwa, the son of Myron Pence and Darline (Tharp) Pence Burlingham. He was united in marriage to Patricia Krotz on October 19, 1967.
Michael served in the Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed softball, gardening, and spending time with his family, and grandkids. Michael also loved to go “down south” to his farm.
Michael is survived by his wife, children, Shelly Pence, Mike (Debra) Pence, and Mark (Debbie) Pence; grandchildren, Brittany (Umaru) Balde, Brandon (Alexandra) Pence, Brooke (Rachel) Pence, and Emily Pence; great-grandchildren, Izzy, and Sai Balde, Harpr, Benelli, and Lakelyn Pence, and Jamieson Pence; siblings, Nancy (Danny) Albert, and Becky (Charlie) Miller; sister-in-law, Karen Pence; and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Chuck Burlingham; brother, Rocky Pence; niece, Prudence Johnston; nephew, Seth Carnicle; and mother- & father-in-law, George (Louise) Krotz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Oldorf Hospice House.
